Are you looking for back to school, and the first week of school activities and centers that are hands-on and fun for students that will make the transition to school easy for you, as well as your students? Then, you will love our Back to School Friendship Unit! This unit has been created and practiced throughout my 11 years of teaching 4K. The activities in this unit are great for children 3 1/2-6. The activities revolve around friendship books and back to school rules, routines and getting to know our school environment.

More Specifically:
Day 1: Welcome to School, Welcome treat idea, First Day of school crown and Certificate and Parent/Child Craft
Day2: Characteristics of a good friend with Rainbow fish, comprehension puppets, and Rainbow Fish Craft, as well as several options for differentiation.
Day 3: I can Follow the Rules of School Teacher book and reproducible, Friendly Choices and Unfriendly choices large group sorting activity, Name plate decorating activity for snack time routine.
Day 4: I Like Myself: Looking at characteristics that make us unique, hair color graph and people stick decorating.
Day 5: Characteristics of a good friend review, partner classroom hunt activity, friendship bracelets and school supplies reproducible
All of the centers and activities can be used be switched around to meet the needs of your classroom. There are lots of opportunities for differentiation throughout.
