Back to School Forms Editable for Preschool and Kindergarten will help you look and feel organized for parent orientation and the first week of school.
There is so much information that you need to give parents prior to school starting and sometimes it can be overwhelming and hard to know where to start. I have found that it is easy to give all of the back to school forms and documents at once.
Here is how I do it:
Place all of the Pages in a Folder
On the folder I attach a bus tag using a large safety pin and the child’s name. I encourage them to keep the papers somewhere they can access it easily. This folder will serve as the major form of communication between parents and yourself. After the pages are removed the children will bring the folder to school each day.
Introduction should be the First Back to School Form That Parents See
First of all if you are unable to mail out a letter prior to the beginning of the year, make sure this is the first thing that parents see. The children will enjoy leaning all about you!
One Form Should Outline Your Classroom Contact and Procedures
Outline all of the important details in this contact sheet. Tell the parents the best way to communicate, how you plan to communicate, snack ideas, class times, bus information. Better to say things right away, then to have to repeat them a million times throughout the year.
Make Sure to Include a Daily Schedule
It’s nice to share a copy of the daily schedule so parents have a rough idea of what their child is doing throughout so they are able schedule appointments around the times if needed.
Get Parents Volunteering from Day One
Parent involvement is key at all ages. Give them plenty of options to choose from.
Have Parents Fill out A Contact Form to Ensure all of the Information is Correct
Have a current copy of parent contact information in your classroom. Sometimes the district information can be outdated.
Label the Folder to Use As a Communication Tool
Use the folder as a way to communicate for parents, because you can never communicate too much.
If your school allows parties, parent orientation is a great time to get parents to sign up.
Plan to Send a Simple Newsletter Each Week as an Extra form of Communication
