October Literacy Centers:
ABC Pumpkin Picking: the boys and girls can order uppercase and/or lowercase pumpkins. They can also practice writing letters out of order. (RF.K.1.D, L.K.1.A)
ABC Printables: ABC order tracing printable. (RF.K.1.D, L.K.1.A)
Batty Letter Mix-Up: match uppercase to lowercase letters (writing or dabbing). (RF.K.1.D, L.K.1.A)
Nocturnal Letters and Numbers: the boys and girls will choose a nocturnal animal and determine if the symbol is a letter or number. They will write it under the matching label. (RF.K.1.B, L.K.1.A)
Batty Word Count: the boys and girls will choose a sentence strip and count the total number of words. They will write the number on the recording sheet. (RF.K.1.C)
Pumpkin Patch Rhyme: the boys and girls will find the two rhyming pictures out of three and dab the matching pictures on the recording sheet. (RF.K.2.A)
Pumpkin Syllable Count: the boys and girls will choose a card and clap out the syllables for each picture and record their findings. (RF.K.2.B)
Raking Up Sounds: the boys and girls will sort the pictures by sound. They will write the letter that makes the sound on the recording sheet. (RF.K.2.D)
Acorn Sight Word Medley {Editable}: the boys and girls will build sight words using acorns. They will practice writing the sight word. This is editable! (RF.K.3.C)
Sight Word Search {Editable}: the boys and girls will search the room for October-themed pictures and your choice of sight words. They will practice writing the sight words. (RF.K.3.C)
Nocturnal Animal Words List: the boys and girls will practice making a list using nocturnal animal book.
Nocturnal Animal Book of Words: the boys and girls will use their words to make a mini-nocturnal animal book.

October Math Centers:
Pumpkin Seed Count: Count the seeds in the pumpkin ten frame, identify the matching number and write the number on the pumpkin (recording sheet). (K.CC.A.3)
Batty Line-Up: Count the bats in the cave and order from 1-10. Color in ten frames on the recording sheet to match (ordering groups). (K.CC.B.4)
Raking up Numbers: Identify the number and write the two numbers that follow. (K.CC.A.2)
Pumpkins VS. Apples: the boys and girls will compare apples and pumpkins and color the greater set on the recording sheet. (K.CC.C.6)
Moon Flip: the boys and girls will shake ten counter chips and record the total number of each color and color the ten frame to match. (K.CC.A.2, K.CC.A.3)>
Pumpkin Roll: the boys and girls will roll the dice three times and record the dots. Then, they will order the dots from smallest to largest (you can use number dice as well). (K.CC.A.2, K.CC.B.4)
Five Little Pumpkins: the boys and girls will unscramble the numbered pumpkins and write the numbers in order on their recording sheet. (K.CC.A.2, K.CC.A.3)
Nocturnal Block Count: the boys and girls will count the total number of blocks next to each nocturnal animal and write the number. (K.NBT.A.1, L.K.1.A)
Pumpkin Measure Up: the boys and girls will count how many pumpkins tall each fall item is and write their measurements on the recording sheet. (K.MD.A.1, K.CC.A.3)
Pumpkin Addition: the boys and girls will spin and color the matching number of squares in the ten frame (different ways to make ten). (K.CC.B.4, K.OA.A.1)
Pumpkin Geo Shapes: the boys and girls will choose a pumpkin and draw their shape on their mini geoboard. (K.G.A.2)
