Are you looking for fun and simple thematic centers that you can prep quickly for your preschool classroom? Spring Activities for Preschool was created for children ages 4-6 and mature 3 year-olds (looking for a challenge). These fun hands on centers are sure to keep their interest and will help build important literacy, math and writing (fine-motor) skills. The themes for march are weather, St. Patrick’s Day and spring.
We love sensory bins in our classroom. I use cake dye to create vibrant colored peas and spray 30 with gold spray paint. The boys and girls use tweezers to dig through the peas to find the gold coins. They use the golden peas to fill their ten frame mat. We also have fun with number matching and trimming a leprechaun beard craft.
The boys and girls make it rain with this cute one to one correspondence rain chain. They also enjoyed this cute reproducible book. They colored the eggs using glitter markers and placed the matching number of eggs in each nest. Their little fingers work hard with these cute rainbow chains.
Leprechaun’s are a fun part of St. Patrick’s Day. They worked on letter and sound association with cute leprechauns. We used 6 at one time, starting with the most popular sounds. They also had fun matching numbers to sets with a shamrock math activity, as well as forming St. Patrick’s Day shapes with dough.
The weather rocks we a blast at our weather center. The chicks were a favorite! The boys and girls opened the chicks and identified the letter. then, they found the matching letter on the printable and traced it. They also traced numbers with our raindrop counting book.
